Each year, the Vancouver Electric Vehicle Association organizes
an electric vehicle show and ride. This event has run since the 1990s
and was known as as "Ride Electric Vehicles!" (REV!).
It is now called ElectraFest.
Since its inception, one of the founding principles of this event
has been that it be more than just a static display of electric vehicles.
Much of the appeal of electric vehicles doesn't sink in until one
has ridden in them, so VEVA encourages its exhibitors to offer test
rides to the public. Depending on the venue, vehicles may be strictly
on static display.
